This is a new day and a new way of doing business.
The Fort Berthold Allottee Land and Mineral Owners Association represents and advocates for the individual and the collective owners of lands and minerals on the reservation.
The elected Board of Directors are Tribally enrolled persons at the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation ~ the Three Affiliated Tribes ~ located in Northwestern North Dakota.
The Board provides exceptional leadership with experienced and qualified individuals offering such skills as, technical expertise, tribal and national leadership, federal government expertise, corporate legal expertise, they are: successful business men and women, rights advocates, and, have superior management expertise.
The Board Members are Land & Mineral Owners.
Expertise Area 1:
We know our Rights. Knowing your Rights as the Owners of the Resources, and, the Rights and Responsbilities of the Federal Government to you, is the starting place for all negotiations.
Our lobby efforts for the One Stop Shop in 2008 were successful for this reason.
As the Owners of the Lands and the Resources, you are the most critical player in the production of Oil and Gas on the Reservation.
Expertise Area 2:
The Board works simultaneous with the Federal Government Agencies, the Producers from the Oil & Gas Industry, and, with you, the Owner.
The FBALMO Association Board understands the position of the Land Owner and being an Enrolled Tribal Member.
They understand the magnitude of the Bakken Formation and other formations; also including the Three Forks, Bird Bear, and Tyler Oil Formations, and conducts business on behalf of the Allottees in a Professional and Expert manner to create professional business relationships.
~ The Association is currently being invited to contribute to the creation of federal legislation on Energy and Indian Energy.
~
During a recent trip of March 2010 to Washington D.C. the Executive Members of the Board did meet with Federal Government representatives and continued to advocate and present documents that identify the outstanding regulatory issues on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.
They held successful and productive meetings with individuals in the Offices of Senator Kent Conrad, the Department of Interior, and the Executive Office of the White House.
Reports on said meetings are provided in Association Member Meetings.
In April 2010 they continued meetings with Industry and Government Representatives making very clear that this ASSOCIATION WILL NOT SUPPORT Condemnation and will actively oppose it.
* NEW * ~ Association Lobby Efforts on 11/09/09*
During the 2009 Great Plains Energy Expo held in Bismarck, N.D. the Fort Berthold Allottee Land and Mineral Owners Association asked Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar to continue to priorize Fort Berthold in the development of resources on the Reservation. Reminding that when we lobbyed for the One Stop Shop we asked for Experts in the Oil & Gas Industry. He said,... "A One Stop Shop" is being created to help expedite permits on reservation land. "We won't let bureacracy stand in the way anymore,". "The Bakken has a chance to have an incredibly positive impact on the Reservation." "Stay Tuned." (Ken Salazar, Secretary of Interior)
